THE PEPPER BLOSSOM

This cocktail is a refreshing mix of sweet, sour, and spice

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 oz Simplicity Gin No. 1: Citrus & Cucumber

  • 3 or 4 sliced jalapeño, seeds removed

  • 4 or 5 large basil leaves

  • 1 oz St Germain (elderflower liqueur)

  • 2 oz grapefruit juice

  • club soda (optional)

  • sugar for the rim

INTO THE GLASS:

Add the gin, jalapeño slices, and basil leaves to a liquid measuring cup and muddle a bit to release the flavors. Let sit for at least 15 minutes. Wet the rim of your cocktail glass with grapefruit juice and coat with sugar (this is optional). Then fill the glass with ice. Strain the gin into a cocktail shaker and add the elderflower liqueur and grapefruit juice. Stir or shake to combine and pour into the ice-filled glass. Finally, top off with a bit of club soda if you’d like!
